Visual FoxPro 9.0 is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008. However, it is not officially supported on 64-bit versions of Windows, such as Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, and Windows Server 2012.

Fortunately, there are some workarounds that can help you install and run Visual FoxPro 9.0 on 64-bit Windows. In this article, we will show you how to do that step by step.

Step 1: Download Visual FoxPro 9.0

The first step is to download Visual FoxPro 9.0 from the official Microsoft website. You can find the link in the reference section below[^1^]. You will need to choose your preferred language and click on the Download button.

You will get a file named VFP9_sp2.exe, which is about 34 MB in size. Save it to a convenient location on your computer.

Step 2: Install Visual FoxPro 9.0

The next step is to install Visual FoxPro 9.0 on your computer. To do that, you will need to run the VFP9_sp2.exe file as an administrator. You can do that by right-clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator from the context menu.

You will see a welcome screen that asks you to accept the license agreement and choose a destination folder for the installation. You can accept the default settings or change them according to your preferences.

Click on the Install button to start the installation process. It may take a few minutes to complete.

Step 3: Apply Security Update and Rollup Update

The third step is to apply two updates that fix some security issues and bugs in Visual FoxPro 9.0. These updates are also available from the official Microsoft website.

The first update is called Visual FoxPro 9.0 Service Pack 2 Security Update[^1^]. It is about 6 MB in size and you can download it by clicking on the Download button on the webpage.

The second update is called Visual FoxPro 9.0 Service Pack 2 Rollup Update[^3^]. It is about 7 MB in size and you can download it by clicking on the Download button on the webpage.

After downloading both updates, you will need to run them as an administrator, just like you did with the VFP9_sp2.exe file. You will see similar screens that ask you to accept the license agreement and choose a destination folder for the installation.

Click on the Install button to start the installation process for each update. It may take a few minutes to complete.

Step 4: Run Visual FoxPro 9.0

The final step is to run Visual FoxPro 9.0 on your computer. To do that, you will need to locate the executable file named vfp9.exe in the folder where you installed Visual FoxPro 9.0.

You can also create a shortcut for this file on your desktop or taskbar for easy access.

Before running vfp9.exe, you will need to change its compatibility mode settings. You can do that by right-clicking on the file and choosing Properties from the context menu.

In the Properties window, go to the Compatibility tab and check the box that says Run this program in compatibility mode for:. Then, choose Windows XP (Service Pack 3) from the drop-down list.

You can also check the box that says Run this program as an administrator if you want to avoid any permission issues.

Click on OK to save the changes and close the window.

Now, you can run vfp9.exe by double-clicking on it or clicking on its shortcut. You should see a splash e0e6b7cb5c
